Saturday, January 28th-Adults and children alike huddled patiently outside black lacquered studio doors in Ashburn awaiting the More Than Cheer Camp to commence. The camp delivered professional instruction from More Than Cheer staff, Redskin Cheerleader Alumni, and current Redskin Cheerleaders. Participants had the chance to meet and get autographs with Redskins football players and cheerleaders throughout the two day experience.

Cheerleaders were lead through warm- ups, jump drills, motion drills, taught stunts, and a routine from the Redskin Cheerleaders. On the second day of camp participants performed for their friends and family.

More Than Cheer was thrilled to put on the event and provide such a memorable and experience to all participants. The company even provided vouchers for complimentary tumbling classes to all attendees. Brittany Rose, the CEO of More Than Cheer beamed when she spoke about the company’s mission to touch the young people of the community. “It has always been our mission to provide youth enrichment. It is not just about cheerleading. It is about helping our young people develop stronger character. We will continue to offer programs like this, where our students can develop as athletes and people.”

 Hi,

I'm so excited to open this blog for my fellow cheerleaders. I want to be a guide for all of you because I never had a guide to navigate the cheer world. Just so you know a little bit about me, I started gymnastics in 5th grade and decided to try cheerleading in 9th. I had no idea what I was getting into but quickly fell in love with the sport. I cheered Varsity for Heritage High School for all four years, I made the All American team four times, and went on to get a cheerleading scholarship at Avila University in Kansas City, MO. Being from Virginia, Missouri was a little to far for me so I transfered back to Virginia and cheered for Virginia Commonwealth University for two years. I created my cheerleading company, More Than Cheer, almost four years ago. I'm having so much fun creating programs for great girls (and guys) like YOU!

Leave a post, ask me some questions, and I'll talk to you soon.
